Information for Foreigners travelling to the Republic of Korea

From Apr 1, 2020, South Korea has put travel restrictions on all foreign travelers to avoid COVID-19 spreading. All travellers entry into South Korea has to undergo a 14-day period of home quarantine upon arrival. Tourists without accommodation will be requested to undergo 14 days quarantine in designated quarantine facility.

 

  • 1. Mandatory requirement: Negative PCR test declaration

     

    The PCR test must be conducted no more than 48 hours prior to the passenger’s scheduled departure date. Passengers without a negative PCR test result will not be permitted to board the aircraft. Please have the printed hard copy ready.

 

  • 2. Mandatory for entry: K-ETA or Valid Visa

     

    For entry to Korea, all foreigners must have a K-ETA or a valid visa to enter Korea. The K-ETA process will take up to 72 hours and the result will be sent to your email address directly. Please have the printed hard copy ready.

 

  • 3.(Recommended) Q-code system for Before entry, and After-entry PCR test. Using the Q-code system

     

    Using the Q-code system is recommended for all people entering Korea to upload their PCR test negative certificate, passport information and answering health condition questionaire. Travellers will no longer be required to upload your vaccination certificates.

 

  • 4. 2 Covid tests in Korea (Updates in 25th July 2022)

     

    Requirements: 1 PCR test within 3 days of entry and 1 RAT test on the 6-7th day. (From 25th July, 1 PCR test within 1 day of entry)

     

    (Short term foreigners) PCR test will be conducted in the airport upon arrival or facility informed by Covid officer. Expense must be paid by yourself. You are to follow the instructions of the Covid officer during the testing and waiting for the result. A Self RAT test on the 6-7th day may be required. All instructions on COVID test upon entry must be followed.

Seoul Airport info

From Hong Kong to Seoul, flight time is around 3 hours 50 minute.
